Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.
Reflection
Paul grounds Christian kindness in God's kindness toward us in Christ. We do not speak graciously to earn God's favor; we respond to grace already given. A sincere compliment can recognize a person's effort, character, or God-given dignity without flattery. Look for something true and say it plainly. Your words may be a small reminder that someone is seen and valued.
