Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us.

Hebrews calls believers to lay aside hindrances and run with endurance the race set before them, looking to Jesus. The central race is faithful discipleship, not achievement for its own sake. A worthwhile long-term goal may still require daily discipline. Choose one concrete step, take it today, and keep your larger priorities in view.
