Reflection
James teaches that believers should be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Disagreement does not cancel our obligation to listen honestly. Ask what the other person means before deciding how to answer. You can hold firm convictions while treating another person with patience and respect. Understanding their position is not the same as surrendering yours.
